Marci Lynn Ebberts, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, CCRN
Marci Ebberts is director of nursing research at Saint Luke’s Health System in Kansas City, Missouri. Prior to her research and professional development role, she served as Saint Luke’s STEMI program coordinator and critical care educator. She began her critical care nursing career over 20 years ago as a direct care nurse in the cardiac ICU and continues to support excellence in nursing by maintaining her critical care certification since 2004. Ebberts holds two MSN degrees (St. Luke’s College and Rockhurst University) and has published articles in American Journal of Critical Care, Critical Care Nurse (including “Certification Test Prep” questions) and Nursing2020. She has also edited several chapters of an AACN procedural manual and presented at meetings and conferences nationwide.
Beth Melton Poppas
Beth Poppas is a progressive care clinical nurse educator at Inova Heart and Vascular Institute, Falls Church, Virginia, and an adjunct clinical instructor in medical-surgical nursing at Marymount University, Arlington. Her 30+ year nursing career has focused on adult critical care and undergraduate education at a wide variety of healthcare and educational facilities across the country. The wife of an active-duty Army officer, Poppas is very involved with the military community, serving in multiple volunteer leadership and advocacy roles over the last two decades. She holds an MSN from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, and a BSN from Barton College in Wilson, North Carolina. She also co-leads review courses for CCRN, PCCN, medical-surgical and gerontological nursing certifications.
Kristin O. Sollars, MSN, RN, CCRN
Kristin Sollars is an ICU float nurse at Saint Luke’s Health System in Kansas City, Missouri. After serving eight years as the facility’s clinical education specialist, Sollars transitioned to delivering care at the bedside during the COVID-19 pandemic. With more than two decades in nursing, her career includes roles as a direct care ICU nurse and an educator. She earned an MSN in nursing education from the University of Central Missouri, a BSN from William Jewell College and a BA in psychology from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. Sollars has been published in American Journal of Critical Care, Nursing2020 and Critical Care Nurse. She also shared her perspective on being a nurse through a StoryCorps interview that aired on NPR’s “Morning Edition.”
